Security On-Demand Announces Acquisition of Infobright Analytics & Technology Assets

Infobright acquisition provides Security On-Demand with “AQ Technology” technology that sets the stage for the next era of threat detection capabilities

San Diego, CA – May 31, 2017 – Security On-Demand Inc., (“SOD”) the leading provider of advanced threat detection and analytics services announced today it has acquired Infobright Approximate Query (IAQ) technology and Intellectual Property assets from Infobright Corporation.

Rough Set Math Theory and IAQ

The IAQ technology IP was developed by the world’s leading data scientists in large-scale data analytics who used Rough Set Math Theory to develop the world’s first AQ analytics engine. Since 2016, SOD worked closely with Infobright’s Warsaw, Poland-based R&D team to channel 15 years of foundational database development into a mature and functional technology able to support the scale of SOD’s massive volumes of log data.

“The amount of data that is being generated by customer networks, devices, and applications is growing at an unprecedented rate.  No one can afford to turn a blind eye to analyzing all the data just because there’s too much of it,” said Peter Bybee, CEO of SOD. “With hackers getting smarter we have to get faster and go deeper. This technology is a huge market differentiator because it allows us to perform queries across data lakes 100 times faster than current database technology”.

AQ Technology Meets ThreatWatch

The AQ Technology™ technology will be integrated into SOD’s ThreatWatch® cybersecurity analytics platform, enabling the managed security service to perform interactive, complex queries across petabytes of data in seconds or minutes, compared to the hours or days required of traditional database analytics queries.  The enhancements will be foundational for the company’s upcoming version 5.0 release of Advanced Threat & Log Analysis Service, launching this summer. In addition, the upgraded service will include new security threat analytics capabilities, a new customer portal, and significant performance enhancements.
